What electrodes are made of graphite?

Graphite electrodes are typically made of high-purity graphite materials and are used in a variety of applications, including steel-making, aluminum smelting, and other industrial processes where high-temperature and high-current conditions are required.

There are several types of graphite electrodes, including:

Regular power graphite electrodes: These are made of low-resistance graphite materials and are used in electric arc furnaces for steel production.

High-power graphite electrodes: These are made of high-purity graphite materials and are used in applications where higher current densities and longer electrode life are required.

Ultra-high-power graphite electrodes: These are made of the highest-purity graphite materials and are used in the most demanding applications, such as electric arc furnaces for the production of high-alloy steels.

In general, graphite electrodes are preferred over other types of electrodes because of their high thermal conductivity, low electrical resistance, and ability to withstand high temperatures and corrosion.
